Distillery Tour and Dinner in Downtown Durham, May 2023
A group of 10 of us had a great time touring the Durham Distillery, home of Conniption Gin. It was fascinating to learn about the gin making process on site, as well as how the company has grown and thrived as a small business here in North Carolina. We sampled all of their products too! Then we adjourned to another downtown small business, Geer Street Garden, for dinner. We enjoyed their garden and the downtown Durham scene. As usual, we were having so much fun I forgot to take photos! Must try harder….

Healthcare Talk by Darren Dewalt, February 2022
We were fortunate to be joined over zoom by Darren Dewalt, Chief of the Division of General Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology at UNC and the Director of the UNC Institute for Clinical Quality Improvement, to talk about the various initiatives in North Carolina to improve our healthcare. A fascinating topic and we learned a lot!

Inaugural Drinks, October 2021
It rained all day, giving our inaugural drinks event at the Sawyers’ a rather English feel weather-wise! Fortunately the rain ended just as the event started. A great time was had by all, mingling over wine, beer and appetizers. It was our very first event, and everyone enjoyed getting to know a few fellow Oxonians, and sharing stories from their time at the University, and ideas for future events!
